Spectral occupancy and congestion control in cellular communication system have been the subject of increasing attention in present environment. Cellular structure induces the co channel interference. Sectoring is an effective way for reducing co channel interference. In the paper co channel interference induced outage statistics in sectored cell structure are computed and then analyzed. Outage statistics like outage probability and outage time varies with variation in SNR threshold, Cluster size and number of sectors. Monte Carlo technique is used for simulation purpose. Results demonstrate that the sectorisation lowers the outage probability by almost 20 % as number of sectors increase from 3 to 6. As the cluster size is reduced from 7 to 4 outage probability almost doubles on reverse link and triples on forward link for omni directional case. The derived information can be further applied for congestion control algorithm designing, efficient spectrum allocation policies and higher order protocol performance evaluation of the mobile network.
