The aim of the study was to find the appropriate model of individual and contextual factors which could predict the adolescent's social participation in voluntary work and political activities. Three groups of adolescents responded to the questionnaire: younger (N=816, students in the elementary school), middle (N=909, students in the high school) and older (N=529, university students). For each group and two types of participation separately the sequential regression analyses was done combined with stepwise regression within seven blocks of predictors: 1) demographic and schooling variables, 2) individual beliefs, 5) motives, 4) decision-making experiences 5) collaborative experiences 6) social knowledge 7) sociability. The distinctive regression models showed some developmental trajectories of motivational, cognitive and experiential factors underlying social participation through adolescence.
