Shaking Table Tests On Rolling-Ball Rubber-Layer Isolation System

摘要

The paper concerns a self-centering isolation system based on rolling-ball rubber-layer bearings to provide the vertical support, freedom of horizontal movement and damping to horizontal motion. A basic assessment using forced displacement and shaking table tests with an isolated rigid mass are used to show it to be effective and to have advantages over a conceptually similar system based on sliding bearings and restoring force providers.
