Electrolyte properties using ionic liquids and acetonitrile: 1. Good Conductivity; 2. Good Voltage Window; 3. Good initial capacitance and ESR; 4. eSionic EDLC capacitors had superior lifetime - Rated lifetime roughly 2x better than TEABF4 controls: At 2.7 V and 70 C, T_(life) >3500 hours; At 2.9 V and 70 C, T_(life) >1300 hours - All control cells had "popped" and lost most of the electrolyte at ~2,400 hours at 2.9 V and 70C - All eSionic cells still functional at 3500 hrs, though ESR continues to increase at longer times.
