摘要

Reported cases of Legionnaires' disease increased by 217% between 2000 and 2009. Two industry organizations are working to address this growing threat to public health. The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, lnc. (ASHRAE) and the Cooling Technology Institute (CTI) are developing standards to reduce the risk associated with building water systems. Elements of Legionella risk assessment will be reviewed including: 1) assessment of risk, 2) collection and interpretation of data, 3) efficacy of control measures, and 4) placing the risk of infection in perspective.
