Localization of the Specific Site of Enzyme-Mediated Covalent Binding of Phycoerythrobilin (PEB) to C-Phycoerythrin Beta Subunit

An off-line LC-MALDI ToF/ToF method was successful at determining the site of attachment of a phycerythobilin to the C-phycoerythrin beta subunit. The MS and MS/MS data establish that the CpeS enzyme catalyzes the attachment of a single PEB to the cysteine located at position 80.
