摘要

Digital ion trap mass spectrometry could be a powerful scan method, provided a proecise control over waveform. It enables one to scan over a small mass range and get high resolution. As shown in the calculation plot, waveform resolution T_(step) plays a major role in mass resolution. Other factors like trapping voltage and q_0 also affect mass resolution in the same way as sinusoidal RF, however, their influence is only fractional compared to waveform resolution. Current results are takes with analog mode detection system. A pulse counting mode system will be adapted in the future to account for low ion counts during slow mass scans to possibly obtain beteter resolution.
