摘要

Phenyl isocyanate formed adducts by reacting with the cysteinyl thiol of glutathione, with the glutamic acid α-amine of glutathione. These results suggest that phenyl isocyanate may react with cysteine and also with amino acids such as arginine and lysine whose side chains contain primary amines. In addition, a double adduct was formed by the reaction of both these moieties of glutathione. NMR analysis confirmed the proposed structure of the double adduct, which has not previously been described to our knowledge.
