The present MS study highlights a temporal sequence of proteins that are differentially expressed according to the different healing states (day 3-month 7). In addition, IMS displayed a different spatial distribution of such proteins within upper/lower wound bed or the adjacent dermis. These preliminary data can potentially be used to set a predictive model of the state of wound healing based on molecular signatures and their localization.
