The IM arrival time of protonated lispro species was shorter than IM arrival time of protonated insulin, suggesting the presence of more compact conformation(s) for lispro as comapared to insulin. Results from IM-MS analyses suggested that both protonated and zinc-complexed species of lispro have more conformational variability as compared to insulin. Post-IM/CID mass spectra of different conformers of protonated and zinc-complexed species of insulin and lispro species did not reveal the presence of conformer-specific fragment ions.
