Mass Spectrometry-based Proteomics Characterization Laser Microdissection Tissue Specimens from Ovarian Cancer in the Chicken

An OVOS2 protein was detected in plasma, ovary, and oviduct tissues. The human homolog was detected in OVC cell lines. LMD was successful in identifying proteins that were identified in whole tissue lysates. Additional proteins such as CA125 were identified only in LMD samples. Snap frozen liver tissue was used to determine a standard curve on the number of cells required for protein identifications.
