Together, our crosslinking data not only confirm the interaction between Pf12 and Pf41, but also suggest an unexpected antiparallel organization between the two proteins facilitated by the lack of a GPI-anchor on Pf41, which holds clear implications for the molecular surface presented to the host cell.
