1. A total of 48 chemical species (of which 24 have been identified) have significantly different levels in S. meliloti following exposures to sub-lethal levels of PAH. 2. Fluorene and a PAH mixture induced different metabolomic profiles. 3. The combination of multi-variate analysis (OPLS-DA and Q~2 scores) and Student t-tests (p<0.001) is a useful combination to identify significant experiments and the metabolites which have been altered significantly.
