In this study, ELDI/MS showed a capability for constructing the molecular image under ambient without sample pretreatment. This protocol allows the analysis of potato tissue to be performed within just a few hours. Consequently, ELDI/MS which can be applied to various fields, is beneficial to natural product study with respect to the understanding of the spatial distribution of molecules in various tissues..
