Different trials in different instruments and laboratories were performed with and without tune compound-based procedures. From the experimental results, it was shown that the tune method seems to be a requirement for inter-laboratory exchange. In the case of comparison of CID spectra from tandem in time, it appeared that the tune method was not crucial. However, the inter-instrumental comparison without application of a similar tune method demonstrates the requirement of rigorous experimental condition to obtain the same spectral fingerprint between tandem in time and tandem in space. Some ions may also be favored because of the internal energy deposited and the type of excitation used (resonant or non-resonant). As expected, the consecutive dissociations were favored in tandem with "axis collisions" and these consecutive fragments cannot be seen or they are appeared in weak abundance for tandem with temporal sequences. Instrumental characteristics indicate the limits of the tune procedure to improve the comparison of CID spectra recorded with tandem with "axis collisions" and tandem with temporal sequences.
