Pre-synaptic protein complexes identified by Interaction Proteomics

We confirmed most of previously reported protein-protein interactions, and overlapping sets of protein interactors among distinct pre-synaptic protein complexes. Importantly, novel interacting proteins and new functional groups were detected. The immunoprecipitation and mass spectrometry experiments still need to be repeated for some target proteins. We are in the process of performing reverse-immunoprecipitation, co-localization assays and blue native PAGE analysis to confirm novel protein interactions.
