摘要

The combination of UPLC, Xevo G2 QToF and data analysis tools enabled the detection of compounds that have the potential to be used as indicators of a product's quality. Chlorogenic acid was identified and shown to be absent from authentic pomegranate juice and pomegranates believed to be grown in North America. Phloridzen, another potential indicator of juice quality, was also identified. MSE spectra provided an indication of peak purity and, with the power of UPLC separation, resulted in the identification of a co-eluting isomer with phloridzen. The workflow demonstrated here can provide reliable and highly detailed information to assist in the process of food authentication.
