Development and Validation of 8-Plex N,N-Dimethyl Leucines as Novel Tandem Mass Tags for Quantitative Proteomics and Peptidomics

8-plex DiLeu at proof of principle stage. Novel compound can be synthesized, used to label peptides, and fragmented into the reporter a_(1) ion. Reaction conditions must be optimized to improve yield. Activated label NHS ester must be purified to improve reaction specificity. Collision energy of labeled peptide must be further optimized. Full set of eight reagents will be synthesized. Utility of reagents for peptide/protein quantitation must be demonstrated.
