Systematic analysis of differentially expressed proteins in gallbladder cancer carried out by iTRAQ coupled with high resolution mass spectrometry. Differentially regulated proteins such as DMBT1 and PSAP can be investigated as candidate biomarkers. Validation using tissue microarrays or multiple reaction monitoring required. Largest catalog of bile proteome till date. Subset of upregulated proteins in gallbladder cancer identified in bile e.g. TPD54 and PSAP. Our study provides reference proteome of human bile for future investigation circulatory biomarker for biliary tract cancers.
