JTB and TDF could be potential serum biomarkers for cell proliferation and cell differentiation (TDF). JTB isoforms may have different functions: only JTB1 is responsible for the onset of cancer. Identification of TDF receptor reveals a new, nonsteroid pathway in steroid-regulated cells (breast and prostate cells).
