The three enzymes were significantly complementary. The multi-enzyme approach allowed the identification of phosphopeptides on a large scale without the need for multiple enrichment steps. Lys-N leads to the observation of certain phosphorylation motifs, which could be potentially exploited in targeted kinase substrate strategies.
