SmileMS is a identification platform which is built around a new, robust library search algorithm. Results on big data sets have demonstrated better performances than a dot-product based approaches (e.g. MS Search from NIST). Furthermore SmileMS is designed to permit easy sharing of libraries, which allows collaborating laboratories to mutually use each others data. The tool is routinely used in a number of laboratories in clinical toxicology and forensic applications that are currently creating their own libraries.
