Characterization of Pathogenic Bacteria from Clinical Samples by Combining Functional Nanoparticle-Based Capture with MALDI MS Analysis

Potential biomarkers for four bacteria have been explored in this work. We have demonstrated the suitability of using this approach to rapidly characterize bacterial species directly from urine samples. The main advantage of this approach is its short analysis time by eliminating the time-consuming steps of cell culturing.
