In conclusion, our study has shown that this modified version of the kinetic method was successful in determining relative (DELTA)H values. The novel aspect of this study was that the breaking of the bond occurs not at a single point, but at two identical sites separated in space. This study shows that our modified version of the kinetic method is valid and gives relative binding order that are consistent with the literature data for amine-crown complexes. The average error associated with the measured values is approx15percent. This is due to the uncertainty in T_(eff). estimates and experimental error. Some future studies will be done with a tertiary amine derivative and observe the binding to the crown complexes and observe the results in binding energy.
