Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) is an established biomarker for the detection of prostate cancer. PSA levels can be elevated in cancer as well as benign conditions and PSA levels can vary between individuals and with age. PSA levels in men should steadily increase with age creating a constant slope that can However, PSA levels are not currently measured on a routine basis preventing a baseline from being formulated. PSA is a glycoprotein and it has been described that glycosylation profiles change with cancer. Urine contains much higher levels of PSA than serum allowing access to the development of glycosylation profiles for both healthy and prostate cancer patients.
