Structural characterization of new statin-like flavonoid glycosides in Citrus Bergamia by high resolution mass spectrometry

摘要

A novel family of 3-hydroxymethylglutaryl flavonoids has been found in bergamot fruit. Their Structure has been fully elucidated through high resolution tandem mass spectrometry and chemical hydrolysis. Their statin-like structure may play an important role for lowering the cholesterol levels in the blood.
