RECOVERING U.S.-ORIGIN HEU SPENT NUCLEAR FUEL FROM FOREIGN RESEARCH FACILITIES

摘要

The Global Threat Reduction Initiative's U.S.-origin fuel removal program, also known as the Foreign Research Reactor Spent Nuclear Fuel Acceptance Program, was established by the U.S. Department of Energy in 1996, and its mission to repatriate U.S.-origin spent nuclear fuel and other weapon-grade nuclear material now extends to 2019. This paper provides an update on recent program accomplishments, current program initiatives and future activities.
