Beach changes on the Hasaki coast facing the Pacific Ocean and extending betweenKashima Port and Hasaki fishing port were investigated. Numerical simulations ofbathymetric and grain size changes were carried out using the contour-line-change modelconsidering the change in grain size (Kumada et al., 2006). In this area, fine sand istransported from outside to inside the wave shelter zone of the port breakwaterconstructed during the extension of Hasaki fishing port. Furthermore, 1.0x 10~5 m~3/yr ofsand is supplied from the Tone River and part of the fine sand is deposited inside theport. The mechanism of the deposition of fine sand in the fishing port was well explainedby the present model.
