Advanced CANDU Reactor~(~R) Computer-based Displays Design Process

The ACR-1000~(~R) project integrates Human Factors Engineering principles and processes throughout all phases of design. The human factors engineering effort follows a structured approach to the application of human factors to the design process. Included in this approach is a tight integration with subject matter experts from the operations and maintenance team. This paper describes the structured approach followed for the control centre design, focusing in particular on soft displays and the points of integration with subject matter experts.
