摘要

Cyclophosphamide is a frequently used chemotherapeutic in Veterinary Medicine. Cyclophosphamide is activated in the liver by the CYP2B11 gene product, the canine homologue of the human CYP2B6 gene. In humans, genetic variation for CYP2B6 exists and affects cyclophosphamide efficacy and the risk for treatment related side effects. Our study aimed to identify variability in the exonic regions of the CYP2B11 gene in the dog, which may have severe consequences for the canine cancer patient.
