摘要

The presence of bone marrow micrometastasis in human breast carcinoma is associated with a poor overall survival, larger tumor size, presence of lymph node metastasis, and negative hormone receptor expression. This prospective study aims to determineif bone marrow micrometastasis can be identified in various carcinomas in dogs and cats using cell block cytology in comparison with routine cytology. The procedure utilizes a combination of immunocytochemistry and cell block cytology to identify cytokeratin positive cells not normally present in the bone marrow.
