Cholangitis and cholangiohepatitis syndrome (CCHS) is the second most common acquired liver disorder of the domestic cat, second only in prevalence to the syndrome of hepatic lipidosis. Historically, CCHS has been histologically subcategorized on thebasis of inflammatory infiltrates (suppurative or non-suppurative), subjective assessment of portal fibrosis (acute having minimal fibrosis or chronic having notable fibrosis), presence of bile ductule destruction, and association with metazoan parasites(liver fluke infestation, e.g. Opisthorchiidae)3.
