The GIS-WEB application for a better knowledge of the road accident characteristics - A study on pedestrian and vehicular mobility safety

摘要

The goal of our study consists in an analysis of statistic data of pedestrian accidents with Geomatics, creating a Web-GIS interface that, at the same time, allows information to be widely shared and offers a tool to investigate accident causes in UE. At present, these data are not readily accessible and are summarised in an electronic sheet using codes and indicators to identify places, categories and degree of consequences. Through GIS high versatility, different kinds of information can interact in order to identify the best practices to improve safety road by reducing accidents.
