摘要

The aim of this study is to develop miniature eutectic fixed point cells to gauge the extent of thermocouple drift without removing the thermocouple from the working environment. The stability of type C (W5percent Re/W26percent Re) thermocouples is evaluated by using a mini Pd-C eutectic fixed point cell for in-situ calibration. A miniature Pd-C eutectic fixed point cell (melting point 1492 deg C) in a graphite crucible with an outer diameter of 10 mm and length 18.5 mm was fabricated to be used as a self-calibrating device. The performance of the Pd-C cell and the type C thermocouple are described in this paper.
