Regions for using of the vehicle with 8×8 wheel arrangement are areas of Siberia and the Far East, representing the largest concentration of hydrocarbon reserves, ore and other mineral resources of the Russian Federation. The application of hydrostatic transmission allows to achieve efficient power distribution for the driving wheels depending on the conditions of vehicle-terrain interaction. It allows to raise considerably the average speed of vehicle movement in severe environment. The maximum possible traction force is implemented by maintaining the wheel slippage at the desired level. At the same time the minimum energy losses during wheel-soil interaction are provided. Also the vehicle has the high level of ecological safety when working on weak soil and vegetation cover. The results of modeling and design calculations have provided the parameters of experimental prototype of multipurpose terrain vehicle, that has a system of turning of each wheel and independent suspension. The application of ultralow pressure tires contributes to the preservation of the integrity of soil cover of northern biogeocenosis and allows to overcome water obstacles. The obtained results make it possible to move to creation of a new type of all-terrain vehicles.
