Stimulation or modulation of the maternal immune system can decrease drug-induced embryonic abnormalities. Meanwhile, Lactobacillus acidophilus strain L-55, which was originally isolated from healthy infant feces, is a probiotic lactic acid bacteria and reported that its oral administration can reduce allergic rhinitis and atopic dermatitis by regulating the immune system.The aim of this study was to examine the effects of strain L-55 administration on steroid-induced cleft palates in ICR mice.
