Control of sulfur content in diesel streams demands for on-line measurement of this component, with low pure time delay and easy operation. In this way, 2D fluorescence Spectroscopy becomes a reasonable choice for soft-sensor development. This work reports a different strategy to overcome the aforementioned lack of selectivity or signal overlapping using the selection of individual fluorescence spectral components combined into multilinear models to predict sulfur content in diesel streams from Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel and Diesel S100. The results obtained using Pure Spectral Chemometrical Modeling and Ant Colony Optimization showed good results as a source of information to determine the sulfur content in diesel.
