摘要

Tilapia are farmed world wide in inland aquaculture in various kinds of facilities and production strategies. The majority are still grown extensively in poly-culture but more and more intensive monoculture systems are being used where the pelleted feed is the only source of energy and nutrients. Feed is one of the main parameter that controls the input and output of such a system, it is essential to quantify the optimal feed intake for any level of fish production. In addition there is a need to prevent feed waste, as this is costly to the farmer and problematic for the environment.
