Normal procedures for custody transfer of oil from lease tanks requires the driver/gauger to manually gauge the producer's storage tank to determine the volume of oil in the tank and the S&W content of the oil.This procedure requires the driver to climb to the top of the tank where exposure to H2S or injury from falling from the tank is a risk.
