Vaccines are administered to develop immunity prior to natural infection. Therefore Enterisol* Ileitis has to be administered 3 weeks before the first field infection with Lawsonia intracellularis (LI). In Germany the time of infection with LI changeddramatically during the last 3 years from fatteners to flatdeck(1). To face the early infection pattern of LI the vaccination scheme had to be adapted(2).
