Stress in transported slaughter pigs is largely determined by the time of year (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6). Thus, seasonal variations should be considered when planning the transport. The main seasonal factor influencing pig welfare during transport is ambienttemperature. Seasonal changes of ambient temperature differ in geographically distinct areas, thus the aim of our study was to assess the relationship of pig mortality to ambient temperature during their transport.
