摘要

Swine Dysentery (SD) is a major gastrointestinal disorder in pigs caused by Brachyspira hyodysenteriae. This anaerobic spirochaete is responsible for severe economic losses to the pig industry (1). For this reason, control or eradication measures areof outstanding importance in B. hyodysenteriae infected herds in order to make them profitable. Several antimicrobials have been used for this purpose for more than twenty years in Spain. However, the management conditions, farm structure and changes inantimicrobial susceptibility can result in a treatment or control failure (1). This study was intended to establish the effectiveness of a B. hyodysenteriae autogenous inactivated vaccine in field conditions, in a multiplier herd with clinical signs of SD.
