Poly(lactic acid) (PLA), a biobased and biodegradable polymer, has great potential to replace conventional petrochemical-based polymers in many fields because of some excellent properties such as high mechanical strength and elastic modulus[l-5]. However, PLA also has its own inherent drawbacks: poor impact strength, lower heat deflection temperature and easy flammability [6-9]. Therefore, modifications need to be conducted on the neat PLA.
