Epidurographic Findings in Low Back Pain Patients

We performed epidurographic study if there were any common patterns exist in radiographic findings for low back pain patients (herniated nucleus pulposus, lumbar spinal stenosis, and failed back surgery syndrome).Epidurography was taken after injecting contrast material through sacral epidural space and three typical variations were distinguished. Contrast medium was 1) stopped at the level of the affected segment, 2) distorted by protrusion of the disk, and 3) distributed irregularly in the epidural space.We conclude that epidurography is a useful tool for both diagnosis and treatment of low back pain.
