This device will be capable of working as a wrist and finger exerciser to aid stroke patient recovery. This assistive device will be linked via an appropriate wireless protocol to a PC game engine. It is envisaged that this link via interacting with the game will trigger visual stimuli neurons that will accelerate recovery of patients. The many challenges in conceptualizing of the abovementioned device are addressed by the use of "smart materials" or "muscle wires" and ultra compact power sources. It is hoped that the presentation of the paper will create a greater awareness on the recent quantum Improvements in materials technology and design. The portability of the device will enable ease of use for patients at home, a speedy and measurable recovery and freeing the rehabilitation resources of orthopedic departments.
