The paper proposes a Monitoring E-Learning model including definitions, scenarios, architecture and conceptual model. The concepts help to produce a common language for many learning aspects and to facilitate the continuous feedback for learners and faculty. Learning evaluation means to measure how much the learner achieved the objectives of the course. It depends on the learner effort, quality of the content (learning content), learning process and e-learning system. There is an important co-relation between these four parts of e-learning evaluation: Learning Process Evaluation (LPE), Learning Object Evaluation (LOE), Learning System Evaluation (LSE) and Learner Evaluation. To help in the evaluation process, a monitoring architecture is defined to capture the learner behavior during the interaction with the e-learning system. Monitoring Element is the component responsible for surveillance of the learning process and is inserted in many points of the content. When Learning Management System receives the request of the Monitoring Points to activate a Monitoring Element it calls the Monitoring Manager. The outcomes are recorded in the Monitoring Base. The Monitor Element can also send information without being requested. In this case it is an active element. Monitoring Manager is also responsible for giving information to Evaluation Elements that are responsible for the Learner Evaluation, LOE, LSE and LPE.
