Mesoporous TiO_2 particles were prepared and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM), which confirmed that well-organized mesostructure has been formed. Near-infrared absorbing tetra-amino manganese (II) phthalocyanine (TAMnPc) was synthesized and employed as sensitizer and TAMnPc sensitized mesoporous TiO_2 (TAMnPc-TiO_2) films were prepared and characterized by electronic absorption spectrum. Compared with bare TiO_2 films, TAMnPc-TiO_2 films exhibit an additional Q absorption band in near-infrared region. Current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of TAMnPc-TiO_2 films in dark and under irradiation were tested. Adsorption of TAMnPc onto mesoporous TiO_2 leads to a significant rise in photoconductivity.
