A Novel Radio Resource Management Scheme with HPWRR Scheduling Algorithm in Link Adaptive Mobile WiMAX Network

摘要

This paper proposes a novel radio resource management scheme in the link adaptive WiMAX network and the hierarchical priority-queuing with weighted round-robin (HPWRR) scheduling algorithm for different traffic services. The radio resource management scheme can re-assign the burst profile and dynamically adjust the allocated bandwidth to the SSs to improve the resource utilization. Then, the HPWRR scheduling algorithm uses the multi-levels hierarchical scheduling architecture and different scheduling algorithms for each traffic service, respectively. Furthermore, in order to guarantee the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, the multicast session becomes the extra new traffic type in the proposed scheme. The HPWRR scheme is analyzed and simulation result shows that it is able to earn efficient improvement as well as lower delay, better bandwidth utilization and higher throughput.
