The presentation is structured as follows: After a short introduction, some structural parts made from platinum materials are shown as application examples and the use of platinum in the glass industry is discussed. All existing results on the group of Pt DPH materials are summarized at the end. First, the manufacturing and the structure of the Pt DPH materials are discussed. For the determination of the high temperature mechanical properties of metallic materials, special testing facilities were developed and built. These facilities are explained to show the relevant results determined on Pt DPH materials. Afterwards, the new Pt DPH material Pt-5% Rh DPH will be introduced. In particular, the results of extensive measurements of the high temperature mechanical properties are presented and compared with the property values of other platinum materials.
