The New DEUTZ Engine TCD 3.6 - the Powerful and Compact Engine Series for Various Applications

The newly designed, water-cooled, four-cylinder in-line engine TCD 3.6 with turbocharger and a powerful Common-Rail injection system as well as a highly efficient combustion with cooled external exhaust gas recirculation meets the requirements for emission levels of EU Stage IIIB and U.S. EPA Tier 4 interim. With outstanding characteristics for torque and rated power this engine advances in a power range that could only represented previously from series engines with larger displacement. Different customer-driven requirements for various applications ensure low fuel consumption at high engine dynamic and response. An DVERT exhaust aftertreatment system with a diesel oxidation catalyst, which could be installed at the machine or alternatively mounted on the engine, enables a fully maintenance- free operation of the aftertreatment system under all circumstances and environment conditions. On the basis of a modular system with high variability any customer gets an installation-friendly solution for an environmentally friendly operation. Optionally, the system is complemented by a closed diesel particulate filter (DPF). The versatile range of applications for agriculture and industry machinery requires a flexible engine design, built upon a base engine, which is suitable for different drives and high variable mounting situations at our customers. The diversity of engines in different applications and its worldwide use represent additional challenges, even in outlying areas with widely varying environmental conditions such as cold, heat or dust.
